Your insurance has
an adjuster.
So should you.

When storm, fire, or water damages your property, we work for the homeowner, not the insurance company. We document the loss, build the Xactimate estimate, and negotiate the settlement so you collect every dollar the policy actually owes.

No recovery, no fee. Capped at 10% on IL residences. Same day callback on free reviews. Hablamos español.
Carriers we've negotiated against
The estimate they hand you isn't the estimate you're owed

The first estimate is rarely the right one.

Insurance companies have teams of adjusters writing the smallest estimate the policy allows. You shouldn't have to learn Xactimate, building code, and claim law just to be paid fairly. That's the whole reason this job exists.

Without representation

You file. They send their adjuster.

  • Damage missed on first inspection: granular loss, hidden moisture, code items skipped.
  • A short estimate arrives. You sign because you don't know what to push back on.
  • Contractor finds more damage mid job. Supplements get denied. You pay the gap.
  • "Denied" or "not covered" lands in your inbox. You assume that's final. It usually isn't.
With GRJ in your corner

We file. Your adjuster shows up.

  • On site inspection that documents every loss the carrier's adjuster is incentivized to miss.
  • Line item Xactimate estimate written in the carrier's own software, matched to their pricing.
  • Supplements, code disputes, and back and forth with the carrier, all run through us.
  • Denied or underpaid? We re-document the loss and reopen the file with evidence it was missing.

Why people call us instead of a 1-800 firm

A real person answers. The same person works your claim.

Insurance companies have entire teams of adjusters, attorneys, and engineers protecting their bottom line. GRJ exists to level that field. We're a family owned, state licensed firm, not a call center with a script.

Our home state is Illinois, and through public adjuster license reciprocity we take on claims anywhere in the country. From the first inspection to the final check, you talk to the adjuster who's actually doing the work.

Most common in IL

Storm & hail damage

Roof, siding, gutters, windows, screens. We document hail bruising, wind lifted shingles, and granular loss that surface inspections miss. That's the hidden damage that drives every supplement.

What actually happens after you call us

Damage to settlement. We run every step.

A simple, transparent process designed to keep you informed without burying you in paperwork. You always know what's next.

Step one of four

On site inspection & policy review

We meet you on site, document the loss, and translate your policy into plain English. No cost, no obligation.

Step two of four

Line item Xactimate estimate

Using the same software the carrier uses, we build a complete estimate of what it actually costs to make you whole.

Step three of four

We negotiate with the carrier

Adjuster meetings, supplements, code disputes, re-inspections. All of it runs through us. You're not in the back and forth.

Step four of four

Settlement funds go to you

Carrier issues the check in your name. We're paid a small contingency from the recovery. Never out of pocket.

The reason public adjusters exist

We write the estimate the carrier should have written.

Carriers use Xactimate. So do we. The difference is whose roof we're standing on. When the same software is matched line for line against the carrier's estimate, missed items and underpriced repairs become impossible to ignore.

  • Industry standard Xactimate estimates.Same software, same pricing database, same line item logic the carrier uses.
  • License reciprocity nationwide.Illinois based, but we can transfer our license to handle claims in most states.
  • Honest timelines from day one.Simple residential claims can move fast. Contested or larger losses can take months, sometimes a year. We tell you up front, not at the end.
  • Contingency only. Capped at 10% on IL residences. You pay nothing up front. No recovery, no fee. Ever.

Honest answers before you sign anything

What policyholders ask most.

If your question isn't here, text or email. We'll answer it before you sign a thing.

What does a public adjuster actually do?
We work for you, not the insurance company. We document the damage, build the line item estimate, file and manage the paperwork, and negotiate the settlement directly with your carrier.
How much does it cost?
Nothing up front. We're paid a percentage of what we recover for you, capped at 10% on personal residences in Illinois. No recovery, no fee.
Can I hire you after I've already filed?
Yes. We can step in before you file, during the review, after the first estimate, or after a denial. Each stage has different leverage, but a public adjuster can help at any of them.
Will my insurance company drop me?
No. It's your legal right to hire representation. Your carrier cannot cancel or non-renew your policy because you used a public adjuster.
What if my claim was already denied?
We re-document the loss and re-engage the carrier with the evidence the original claim was missing. A denial isn't always final. Most reopened files come down to documentation, not coverage.
How long does it take?
Every claim is different. Simple residential cases can move quickly. Contested, denied, or large losses can take months, sometimes a year or more, once supplements and appeals are involved. We give you a realistic timeline at the inspection and update it as the file moves.
Do you only handle Illinois claims?
No. Illinois is our home state, but public adjuster license reciprocity allows us to transfer our license and handle claims in most states across the country.
What types of damage do you handle?
Storm and hail, fire and smoke, water and pipe bursts, roof damage, denied or underpaid claims, and commercial property losses. Residential and small commercial buildings.
