What a denial usually means

Most denials are documentation problems, not coverage problems.

Carriers decide on what's in the file. When the file holds a ten minute inspection and a dozen photos, the decision reflects that. Change what's in the file and you can change the decision.

Can a denied insurance claim be reopened?
Often, yes. A denial based on a brief inspection or thin documentation can be challenged with better evidence. We review the denial letter and your policy, then tell you honestly whether the file is worth reopening.
How do I know if my claim was underpaid?
Compare the carrier's estimate to what the repair actually costs. Common gaps include code required items, matching, tear out and detach and reset labor, and entire trades like gutters or interior finish. We run a line item comparison at no cost.
Is there a time limit to dispute a denial?
Your policy sets notice and suit limitation deadlines, and they vary by carrier. The sooner we see the file, the more options you have. Bring us the denial letter and we'll map the deadlines with you.
Will disputing the claim put my policy at risk?
No. It's your legal right to hire representation, and your carrier cannot cancel or non-renew your policy because you used a public adjuster.
What does it cost to hire GRJ on a denied claim?
Nothing up front. We're paid a percentage of what we additionally recover for you, capped at 10% on personal residences in Illinois. If we recover nothing more, you owe nothing.
